The mission of Mentors International is to make a lasting difference in your life by helping
you serve those in extreme poverty in a self-sustaining way through business training,
character development, and financial services.
Our vision is to serve millions of the world’s poor through the mutually beneficial
principles of self-reliance and prosperity.
The past 25 years of ending poverty for millions through self-reliance has been made possible because of our donors. You are the silver lining in the cloud of poverty. The impact is far-reaching to those who previously endured the dark clouds of poverty, hunger, deprivation, and discouragement. Mentors International’s program provides borrowers with a mentor, business skills training, and small business loans. Program “graduates” enjoy the silver lining of basic necessities, hope for a better future, and dreams for their children.
Your impact is reflected in this report. Our positive outcomes are a direct result of your donations. This noble endeavor elevates lives and is the highest form of charity.
Thank you for being our partners in this work!

Mentors International is often able to provide loans to those who would otherwise have no
access to credit or other financial services.
One such group is found in Piura, Peru. This center specifically helps those who suffer from disabilities. Pictured to the right are Luis and Lydia. Luis is blind, but he still desired to open a restaurant and provide for his family. As head of the center bank, Luis now wishes to share the success he has achieved with other handicapped entrepreneurs.
We provide an array of financial services including savings, death benefits, independent loans, insurance products and training.
Mentors International connects our borrowers, like cardamom farmers in Guatemala, to resources to create sustainable businesses. By partnering with doTERRA® International, LLC., our borrowers can work with the doTERRA Healing Hands Foundation™ and doTERRA’s Co-Impact Sourcing® Initiative to improve their living conditions and business strategies. These initiatives provide borrowers with more effective methods of growing their cardamom plants, and is one example of how we help borrowers get fair market value for their crops.
We respect that individuals see happiness and prosperity differently. Local staff tailors services to the individual borrower’s needs and wants.
Our new customized training program is designed around four key components to achieve self-reliance: business, home, community, and education. These circles of success help borrowers earn a living, balance their life, and grow their community.
Mentors Honduras modeled the way by teaming up with local professionals to provide pro bono services such as legal advice, tax questions, and farming tips. The community grows when we all work together.
