Guatemala Expedition Itinerary
July 15 – Arrive in Guatemala City, Guatemala.
July 16 – A wonderful day meeting the staff of Mentors Guatemala, hearing them talk about their work, and meeting some of the clients they serve.
July 17 – Visit clients in the mountain region of Chimaltenango. See how the Kaqchikel people still wear their native homespun clothing. Experience their hard working and friendly way of life.
July 18 – Visit clients in the rural farms of Patzicia. Meet the families of these industrious entrepreneurs and witness first-hand the difference a small loan, business training, and mentoring can make in the lives of these innovative families.
July 19 – A day of sight-seeing and shopping, including a drive to Antigua, a city in the central highlands of Guatemala famous for its well-preserved Spanish influenced architecture. We will also visit some spectacular ruins and colonial churches.
July 20 – In the morning we will fly to Flores, gateway to Tikal. Enjoy a guided tour of the stunning ruins of Tikal, a popular Mayan site. Tikal is the largest excavated Mayan site in the American continent. It is Guatemala’s most famous cultural and natural preserve. Return to Guatemala City that evening.
July 21 – Fly home from the Guatemala City Airport

Step 3: Prepare for departure. Make sure your passport is in order. Consult your doctor for any necessary immunizations and vaccines. Purchase Travel Insurance. Purchase your airline tickets.
