In a small farming village in Cambodia, Mao Kong manages a small enterprise raising ducks and growing vegetables to feed them. With guidance from Mentors International Cambodia, he not only doubled his family’s income but also experienced a profound personal transformation.
Before joining the program, Mao Kong was quiet and reserved, often preferring solitude. However, through one-on-one mentorship, he gained confidence, learned effective communication skills, and discovered his potential as a leader.
Today, he enthusiastically shares his agricultural know-how, teaching others in his community how to raise ducks profitably and earn extra income right from their backyards.
Mao Kong dreams of launching a training class in his village to help others raise ducks and chickens. His vision is simple but powerful: to empower his neighbors with practical skills that foster financial stability and independence.
From Mao Kong’s own words:
“I am deeply grateful to Mentors International Cambodia. For believing in me and showing me what’s possible. Now I can provide for my family and spend more quality time with them, things I never imagined possible.”
His mentor, Try Bora shared, “I couldn’t be prouder. Mao Kong has blossomed into a confident, community-minded leader. He’s not only supporting his own family but also lighting the way for others to follow. It’s been an honor to witness, and be a part of, his journey.”
