The Mentors International Website is a general audience website and Mentors International does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age.
Personal information is information about you that is personally identifiable like your name, physical address, email address, or phone number, and that is not otherwise publicly available.
Information Collecting and Use
The choice of how much personally identifiable information you provide to Mentors International and the Mentors International Website is left completely up to you and is voluntary. There are times when we may need information from you, such as your name, mailing address or e-mail address. You will be asked to supply that information voluntarily. Mentors International collects personal information when you donate to Mentors International.
When you donate, we ask for information such as your name, email address, physical address, and zip code. Once you donate to Mentors International, you are not anonymous to us. Unless you specify that a gift be “anonymous” or otherwise request that your name not be listed, we list the names of donors who give $500 and up in some brochures and benefit programs, so as to recognize their generosity publicly.
Additionally, if you participate in a Mentors International Expedition, you may need to provide additional personally identifiable information necessary to ensure that your travel arrangements have all the necessary information to successfully complete your expedition along with emergency contact information.
We may use other outside service providers to facilitate the Mentors International Website and overall operation, and to perform functions on our behalf, such as sending postal mail and email, removing repetitive information from donor lists, analyzing data, processing credit card payments and providing customer service. These third parties may have access to your personal information as needed to perform their functions, but they may not use it for any other purpose
Mentors International automatically receives and records information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP address, and the page you request.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Mentors International does not rent, sell, or share personal information about you with other people or non-affiliated companies except to provide products or services you’ve requested, when we have your permission, or under the following circumstances:
We respond to subpoenas, court orders, or legal process, or to establish or exercise our legal rights or defend against legal claims;
Participants in Mentors International Expeditions will provide information that Mentors International will share with third party providers of transportation and lodging to ensure your safe travel and to comply with travel requirements outlined by individual transportation and lodging service providers. Information will not be shared by Mentors International beyond what immediate travel service providers require for travel. These third parties may have access to your personal information as needed to perform their functions.
This policy does not apply to the practices of transportation and lodging companies that Mentors International does not own or control or to people that Mentors International does not employ or manage.
Mentors International maintains physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to guard your non-public, personally identifiable information. However, Mentors International cannot guarantee that any information is totally secure. Third parties may unlawfully intercept or access transmissions or private communications and Mentors International makes no representation, warranty or guarantee that the Mentors International Website is protected from viruses, security threats or other vulnerabilities or that your information will always be secure. You hereby acknowledge that we are not responsible for any intercepted information sent via the Internet, and you hereby release us from any and all claims arising out of or related to the use of intercepted information in any unauthorized manner. If we become aware of any security breach which we know has resulted in unauthorized access of your personally identifying information, then we will endeavor to inform you of that breach as soon as it is practicable for us to do so.
Updating/Correcting Personal Information

Donors who have previously opted-in to external communication lists and services, can also use the above contacts to inform Mentors International that you no longer wish to have your personal information shared outside of the organization
A donor may contact Mentors International and have their name and personal information suppressed, but will no longer receive communications from Mentors International about the impact of their donations. A donor making this election will not receive further communications. Mentors will only maintain the donor’s contact information for historical purposes and no information will be shared or sold to any other party.
Surveys and Promotions
From time-to-time, Mentors International may provide you the opportunity to participate in promotions or surveys through the Mentors International Website, its social media or through email. If you participate, we may request certain personally identifiable information from you. Participation in these surveys or promotions is completely voluntary and you therefore have a choice whether or not to disclose this information. The requested information typically includes contact information (such as name and shipping address), and demographic information (such as zip code and gender). We use this information to notify and award promotion winners, to monitor Website traffic, personalize the Website and Program and to send participants email newsletters.
