Tuxtla Mexico Update

Our Team Today

Mentors International in Tuxtla, Mexico, started in April 2021 when Carla was hired as our center director. Carla began by teaching English at Casa Hogar Alegre, an institution serving children who have suffered abuse or mistreatment. Mentors International collaborated with them by providing English training to give their teenagers additional skills to help them find employment when they age out and must leave the Casa. We still have this partnership today.

A few months later, Mentors International grew and rented an office where they started teaching and mentoring others throughout the community.

Most people in Tuxtla didn’t know about Mentors International or their programs, so Carla contacted a television channel, and they came to interview us. They also have contacted various organizations and municipal and state institutions to spread the word and reach families that need it most. They have also served some of the indigenous areas in Tuxtla with training and mentoring.

Thanks to the business mentoring they provide, our Tuxtla has assisted many people in improving their business’s incomes and achieving the goals that they have set.
