Born and raised in Angkrang Village, Krvith Thum Commune, Maen Sineth grew up as the only child in her family, facing hardship. By age 15, she moved to Phnom Penh in search of work and independence. She married and built a family, but following her divorce, she became the sole caregiver for her son and her 92-year-old mother.
Two years ago, Maen joined Mentors International Cambodia after hearing about their entrepreneurship program at a community event. Starting as a small coffee seller, she gradually diversified into clothing sales and online trade. Although she began without financial knowledge, Mentors International Cambodia equipped her with vital tools, such as expense tracking and income management.
This shift empowered Men to stabilize her income, pay off her personal debt, and build confidence in her abilities. Her business grew, and so did her capacity to care for her family. She now balances entrepreneurship with caregiving, cherishing more meaningful time with her family.
“Mentors International’s guidance gave me clarity and courage. Now, I can provide for my mother and son, and hope even more deeply for our future.”
Her transformation is a powerful testament to the impact of practical mentorship and the quiet strength of determination.
