From Student to Teacher

We are lucky to have Ashly as part of our team in Peru.

In 2018 Ashly was introduced to Mentors International by some friends. She was excited about the opportunity to learn English. It was something she always had wanted to do. With hard work and dedication, she completed all our English training courses from Beginning to Advanced.

Her teachers we very impressed with her dedication and her desire to improve. A couple of years later, our Center for Education and Mentoring in Peru was looking for a new English Instructor.

Ashly shared with us, “I did not feel qualified to be an English teacher, but my instructor encouraged me to apply, so I did. As an instructor, I was given the opportunity to be part of the Mentors International team. It has been a rewarding experience in many aspects. Teaching has helped me to continue improving in terms of my language skills. It has motivated me to set and achieve other personal and professional goals, and I have met wonderful people through Mentors International. I was able to improve my income through steady employment. It makes me happy to be able to help others. In the past, I would not have imagined being in this position today. Learning has become one of my passions, and every day I continue learning.

I feel very happy and grateful to be part of Mentors International. There is nothing better than helping others. I feel very blessed, and I think that the one who has received the most help and learning is me. I can’t believe that it has been four years since I first entered the doors of Mentors International. I am not the same Ashly as before. I have improved in many areas, and I am infinitely grateful.
