Supporting 12 Children

Growing a Business

Maria, the woman in the black and white dress, raised a dozen children as a single mother. Thanks to business mentoring from Mentors International in Honduras, she achieved financial stability. Over time, her modest roadside shop has expanded and improved under her mentor’s guidance. She diversified her products, built better display shelves, and ventured into selling pots and vegetable starts, enabling her customers to grow their own vegetables at home.

Today, Maria continues to support her family, with her daughter Dunia and granddaughters actively involved in running the business. Maria’s granddaughter, Dulce is saving for college. She’s taking English courses through Mentors International, with the goal of securing a higher-paying job to finance her college education.
