Beach Clean Up Day

Making Waves of Change!

Two vocational classes from Mentors International in Peru got together and dedicated their entire Saturday to cleaning up the local Huanchaquito Playa. Collaborating with a local councilwoman, the students efficiently organized this service project. The city contributed by providing essential supplies such as gloves, masks, plastic bags for garbage collection, and rakes, among other tools.

The Mayor himself attended the event, creating great enthusiasm by supplying water and cookies to our dedicated volunteers. It was a full-day effort, and a large section of the beach was cleaned up.

A few days later, Mayor José Muñoz extended his gratitude by formally thanking Mentors International and visiting our center to talk with our directors, mentors, and teachers. In a gesture of support, an inter-institutional agreement was signed between Mentors International and the local government, pledging additional vocational training and business mentoring for the town’s youth and families.

At Mentors International, we believe in the power of personal investment in training. That’s why our students pay for their courses through 40 hours of community service, benefiting schools, municipalities, hospitals, orphanages, senior care centers, and more. This commitment not only enhances their skills but also improves the lives of others in their communities.
