Mentors International acquires Elevate Global to reach thousands more families, strengthen leadership team, and leverage new technology.
Mentors International, the leader in alleviating poverty through one-on-one mentoring and vocational training in developing countries, has acquired Elevate Global, an innovative provider of small business training, in-field operations technology, and real-time impact measurement in Latin America.
Since 1990, Mentors International has impacted millions of individuals in 14 developing countries across Latin America, Africa, and Asia. The addition of Elevate Global will expand Mentors International’s reach to now include Colombia and two new states in México. Elevate pioneered the model of partnering with banks to sponsor training programs for their small business borrowers. This model builds on Mentors International’s commitment to deliver the highest impact per dollar through revenue-generating programs that are then utilized to serve more families.
This union brings together experienced mission-driven leadership from both organizations who have their sights set on providing world-class education to enable hundreds of thousands of individuals, families, and businesses to rise above poverty.
This acquisition is the latest step in Mentors International’s deliberate strategy of increasing scale and cooperation among non-profits providing educational services in developing countries. Mentors International has consolidated three separate organizations in the past eight years to broaden its geographical reach while minimizing overhead. Our firm conviction is that philanthropic interventions should aim to empower individuals economically, as this creates a ripple effect that has the potential to impact entire communities.
This is an exciting step forward in Mentors International’s mission to lift individuals and families out of poverty through personalized mentoring, vocational training, and access to micro-loans.
