Valentines warms my heart and reminds me how grateful I am for all the relationships I cherish. I was thinking today about one of our borrowers in the Philippines named Anabe. She and her husband operate a small catfish business. They were able to make a small living selling their fingerlings of catfish to local markets.

Then one day, a good friend introduced Anabe to Mentors Philippines. This connection quickly improved her family’s life. With the capital and business mentoring from Anabe’s first loan, she opened a small shop, or sari-sari store. Anabe also started selling her own fish in the shop. Her income rose to over $60 a day.

Now, all three of Anabe’s children are finishing school. She is paying off her mortgage and has a secure and beautiful home. Anabe is also saving to purchase a car to help improve her business even more.

So often it is the little connections we share with each other that have the greatest impact. I invite you now to share some love this Valentine’s Day! Consider sending some support to entrepreneurs like Anabe to help train and improve their businesses. When placed in the loan fund, your gift becomes perpetual, and will bring hope and self-reliance to families all over the world.

Below are a few examples of the love that was shared last year and the tremendous impact it had. This vital work is possible because you reached out to those ready to be helped. Thank you for your generous heart.
