One of the more important and driving insights that has “come to me” (meaning not mine but from somewhere or someone else – perhaps even divine) – is among the many NGO’s and as a whole – we need to stop duplicating efforts and start multiplying synergies. I have witnessed exponential results and impact when “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” It seems to me as well – the greater the cause – the more significant and lasting the results.  When good people come together and work together – together they not only change lives, but generations. Face it – we are all after lasting impact. In this case 1+1 = “it’s impossible to say”

This collaborative spirit is alive and well – as evidenced by Operation Underground Railroad, the Utah State SEED Program and Mentors International. I am extremely proud to be part of this “A-Team” of lasting social impact. Together we create a formidable team that rescues our brothers and sisters from horrible human trafficking circumstances, provides them training and life skills through student mentors, and couples them with professional mentoring, education and micro-finance opportunities.

Next week (August 26th-28th) – at the 68th United Nations Civil Society Conference held in Salt Lake City, Utah we have been given the unique opportunity to speak about this unique relationship. Come and see what our collaborative spirit is all about. If I may speak for the three of us – we are wholly inspired to greater heights as we work together. We are inspired by the incredibly heartwarming results, and we hope you’ll be inspired to look for your opportunities to multiply synergies.
